We needed a mobile engineer who could ship a release, and we had the contract signed before the sprint slipped.
Campo Health had a regulated release and one mobile engineer. A contractor who could own the store submission was the difference between shipping and slipping a quarter.
We limited the search to engineers who had taken an app through review and who could overlap US hours from Latin America. The first conversations happened in the same week as the brief.
A contract started eight days later. Campo kept the seat for a second term and then asked for a permanent backend engineer on the same product.
